That's what Twin Lakes was to us. It's not the Ritz, but we knew it wouldn't be, and didn't want that. We had a cabin which had cement floors (installed for ease of cleaning, I assume), but otherwise it had all mod cons with their cool little shop and restaurant a few steps away. The nice waitress fussed over my hubby by sneaking a birthday candle on his cheesecake, then dowsed the lights while she brought it out and she and everyone in the place sang happy birthday to him - yes, he was touched. We watched the fishermen out on the lake from the cabin's front deck and basically did nothing all week. It was a perfect vacation.

Put the brakes on. It's not people move fast here it's just they only have one pace. Don't bring your city thinking relax

Sorry, I love the lake, love the shop, but the restaurant needs some help.

The one star is for the Restaurant only. The folks running the shop in the front are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is over priced and under staffed. We waited an 1/2 hour before the waitress even brought over water. This is after standing next to the 'wait to be seated' sign for 10 minutes while the staff walked past us and stared but never offered to help us. Food was ok but not worth the price or the aggravation.

This was our first time at Twin Lakes Resort and it was such a lovely place to spend 4 days. We stayed in one of the big cabins where the beds were comfortable and the amenities were way better than we were expecting. It's an outdoor dream for kids, but the bit that was so far above and beyond for me was to see 3 of the staff on their day off (Aaron, Stephanie, and Kirstie) engage with our 4 young kids in an hours-long game of King of the Paddle Board. As a busy parent and professional I cannot share enough how grateful I am to the extraordinarily friendly culture at Twin Lakes and for sharing their time to make my family's holiday that much better. Just go, you'll love it.

Great reort on small lake

Have you ever stayed somewhere just once and it stays in your memory for years? You keep saying to your spouse, "We should really go back there someday! It was so friendly, so nice and relaxing!"
